Hey guys!
So I'm so sorry I haven't written for awhile I need to remember to take time to blog!
This week at Hume has been really great.  The campers are all so awesome this week.  The speaker this week is really great too, and I had the chance of talking to him for a few minutes.  We talked about scripture and verses that are used as popular life verses but taken completely out of context when we talk about them.  One of them in particular is Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."  People act as if this verse is talking to individuals, saying that God knows the plans He has for your life, and He does, but that is not what this verse is saying.  This verse is directed at the Israelites, telling them when they will be taken out of captivity.  Most of the people who heard this verse didn't even get to see freedom because it didn't happen for 70 years after this verse was said.  God was talking to the people as a whole.  He knows the plans for the Israelites.  JP (the speaker I was talking to about this) said that this is still a great life verse, and when we put it into the actual context of what it is saying, it is even greater, knowing that God is talking to His people as a whole.  It is not about us, it is about bringing glory to God and He knows the plans He has for all of us as a whole.  Its a cool thing to think about... anyways I don't know if I even made any sense here, and Jp said it way better than I did!  haha...
Yesterday at the Fro- So was our busiest day of the summer!  It was also one of the hottest!  By the end of the day I was so so tired from working.  I slept really good last night.  My friends Johnny Hamilton and Emily Berger are here visiting this week and it is so fun to have them!  Tonight I get off at 7: 30 and we're gonna go to Look Out Point, which is an amazing place which looks over everything, and the stars are unbelievable.  Well, I have to get ready for work, so I will try to write more tomorrow.  Have a great day everyone!  Remember who you are living for!

wow--that speaker sounds so great. what a great reminder about that verse as well. i think it's important to remember the context of verses in the Bible. i know i take them out of context all the time. sounds like you're doing well. missed you last night--we had our outdoor movie night.
